Origins (how formed): The Canadian shield was once a volcanic mountain range. it also had glaciers to form the land.
Landscape (Landforms/Topography): The Canadian shield has hard rigid blocks surrounded by younger continental land forms. It's flat, bare, rocky, with lakes and wet lands. the thin soil there is unsitble for agriculture.
Resources: the Canadian shield provids copper, gold, lead, diamonds, platinum, and nickle.
Region: Interior Plains Region.
Origins (how formed): The plains were formed by rivers carrying soil.
Landscape (Landforms/Topography): The Interior region has horizontal layers of sedimentary rock. it's has flat land, rolling hills, and river vally's. the Interior region includes lakes and lush forest.
Resources: the Interior Region provides fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas, and eavporites like potash.
Region: Cordilla Region.
Origins (how formed): The Cordilla Region was formed when plate collision cuased earths crust to buckle and plate tectonic formation.
Landscape (Landforms/Topography): the Cordilla region has parallel mountain ranges, plateaus, trenches,vally's, volcanos, glaciers, and ice fields.
Resources: cordilla region provides copper, gold, and coal.
